The DET4TCR2's interface has been designed to be as simple to use as possible. All you have to do is connect up the necessary test leads, use the rotary dial to select which test procedure you want, adjust the frequency and the voltage using labelled buttons then press the large test button. You can also toggle the backlight of the LCD display on off for use in darkened conditions.

Other included features of the DET4TCR2 include the ability to automatically evaluate the connection status of C stake and P stakes. When this test is performed it will display the connection/condition of each connected stake on the LCD display for easy referencing. The tester also features automatic noise checking, with rejection from 40V peak to peak.

The Megger DET4TCR2 also can test resistance with range of 0.01 to 200KΩ, runs on 8 x rechargeable batteries and is in accordance with IEC61326-1.
