    Overview:

    Certificate for domestic dwellings as required by BS 5839-6: 2019+A1:2020 and based on the model forms in Annex E.

    This is an additional certificate based on the requirements of BS 7671 of either and Electrical Installation Certificate (EIC) or a Minor Electrical Installation Works Certificate (MEIWC) for the electrical installation element.

    The only real means of ascertaining that the fire detection and fire alarm system has been designed, installed, and commissioned correctly is the record of those who have done such work. The installer should be aware that there is only one certificate that is used to ‘sign off’ a Grade D fire detection and fire alarm system: this certificate is found in Annex E of BS 5839-6.

    It is essential that a grade of the system is clearly referenced, this ensures that the recommendations of BS 5839-6 are applied correctly.
