The FLIR CM275 Thermal Imaging Clamp Meter combines accurate measurement of electrical parameters with FLIR’s state-of-the-art thermal imaging technology. It can measure AC/DC current up to 600A via its 35mm jaw whilst the meter can also perform contact measurement of voltage (1000V), resistance (6kΩ), and capacitance (1000µF). Other functions include diode testing and inrush current measurement for assessing the start-up phases of motors. VFD mode is perfect for motor drives and true RMS measurement makes AC parameters more accurate.
In addition to its advanced measurement functions, the FLIR CM275 has a 160 x 120 pixel thermal sensor which measures surface temperature from -10˚C to 150˚C with ±3˚C or 3% accuracy. The 150mK thermal sensitivity means that temperature differences of just 0.15˚C can be depicted on screen across a 50˚ x 38˚ field of view. A laser pointer helps the user direct the camera and there is the choice of iron, rainbow and greyscale palettes.
It is easy to select the function on the FLIR CM275 using the simple dial. Other buttons allow ranging, fine adjustments and different measuring modes such as min/max recording and data hold. Results and thermal images are shown on the 2.4” screen and both readings and images can be saved to clamp meter’s internal memory. Files can then be wirelessly transferred via Bluetooth® to the user’s smartphone using the FLIR Tools or FLIR InSite apps.
The practical design of the FLIR CM275 makes it suitable for working in tricky or cramped conditions. The integrated torch illuminates the area in dark cabinets and the slimline clamp jaws can fit into awkward cavities. It is drop tested to 2m and is safety rated as Cat III 1000V / Cat IV 600V. The clamp meter benefits from a ten-year manufacturer’s warranty.
